I'd Rather Jack

So, this shoot did not go according to plan. I'd been longing for one of these duster coats that so many bloggers seem to have embraced recently. But when push came to shove, it didn't really do much for me. Especially as I decided to style it with a hat. Big mistake. Huge. It's deffo a case of no hat required with this look. But...I hate my hair too much to go hatless. And I hate my face too much to sunglassesless. Hence I'm in a state of constant hiding. So, somehow, I came out looking a bit like Mick Fleetwood. And I can't really say he's one of my style icons. Stevie Nicks...different story. The voice! The hair! The song-writing ability! The drama! The amazing witchy clothes (yep, they appeal even to a minimalist like me). Mick, not so much. If one thing salvaged this shoot though..it's the mules. Yeah, I know everybody's got 'em, but I love 'em. So let's thank Zara for that. (Not that we can really blame H&M for my lack of styling ability vis-a-via the coat, it's actually ledge, and like, silly cheap too). Hopefully my next shoot will be a triumph of hat-free bravery and looking up-ness. In the meantime, if you've got any duster coat or mule thoughts, lemmie know xx

Ain't Been Right Yet

At the weekend I excitedly took my new chain boots on their first outing, only to end up with severely mashed feet shortly thereafter. Man, these botines rip your feet up good and proper. I'm devasted, and very very blistered. Still, they look good and let's face it, that's what counts :) The rest of my outfit comprises my much loved Whistles sweatshirt, some Topshop skinnies from last summer and a textured coat from Zara. Hope your week is going blisteringly well (see what I did there). Catch you soon xx
PS Did anyone see 'Same Love' performed at The Grammys on Sunday? God, did I ever drop a tear, or several. Ben and Ryan are sheer geniuseseses.

A Very Berry Christmas

How cute is the little coat from H&M? It's got a nice textured finish and pings my lust for all things dark red. I actually bought it with a voucher *No Surprises There Face* so it worked out stupidly cheap. Yay! I've just paired it here with my go-to Jamies and ankle boots....it's kinda safe.....kinda boring....but that is how I roll :) Hope your week is going berry well (cringe). Laters chicks xx

Crop It Like It's Hot

Originally, I wanted to put this very cute cropped knit with a nice high-waisted trouser. I've seen Amy Magpie rocking a number of excellent high-waisted looks recently, and I wanted to give it a whirl myself. I hauled a couple of (what I thought were suitable) pairs of trews from Zara and was all set to shoot. But- disaster darling- when it came to the crunch something just wasn't working for me and I retreated into the safety of a skinny jean. I say retreated, I mean shoe-horned, obvs. Whilst I'm clearly wayyyy too fat to be working a jean this tight with a cropped top I just can't help but luvin' these leather-patch skinnies to the max. (Can't find the link for them...soz!) Normally I do a massive diet-drive in the last few weeks before Crimbo so I can have a lovely indulgent time over the holidays....looks like I need to re-double my efforts!

Bed Of Roses

How pretty is this floral top? I'm sure there's something better than ripped skinnies to go with it, but I couldn't think what....so I went with the jeans :) As it's lookin' like a beaut of a weekend is heading our way (woop! yay! finally!) I've gone into overdrive planning my outfits...do you do the same? I have been known to wear three outfits a day...I just love the thought of...what I might wear next! (My sis calls me Li-Lo for being such a diva!). I've also relented on the fake tan issue and smothered myself in a layer or two of it. Which may well give me the option of.....*drum roll*...wearing a dress. Confesh: I've just bought the most gorge one from River Island...(and a pair of sandals too) with this week's voucher in Grazia. Get on that if you haven't already!
Have a lovely sunny ice-creamy weekend xx
