Spot The Festival Virgin

Summer can throw up some vexing fashion dilemmas, can't it?  There's- how do I look thinner on the beach? (lay down most of time in my case); should I risk wearing open toes to work? (only if you don't mind some shitehawk standing on your toes in the tube/getting caught in the inevitable thunderstorm) and perhaps most irksome of all- what the hell shall I wear to a festival? Festival dressing seems to have fallen into the default mode of 'Shorts + Hunters + Kimomo + Flower Crown' in recent years. Not that I don't like that look- in fact- I love it (mostly on girls with better legs than me). But when the lovely Bryony over at F + F asked me to put a little festi look together I knew I didn't wanna go down that route. (However, if I were going down that route this kimono is pretty ledge, to be fair). What I wanted to do was a look that was a bit more me, a bit more monochromey, a bit more boyish, just a bit more......non-default. So I went for this jumpsuit. And I can fully confirm that it's priddy shamazeballs. Ok, I know. What kinda dumbass chooses a jumpsuit to go a-festivalling in? A dumbass festival virgin like me, that's who. But wait. There's method in my madness. You can roll this beaut down, layer a tee underneath it, and then when you're done pretending to enjoy standing in a field listening to a band who you only know one song by, you can take it back to Sanityville and dress it up with a heel. Hopefully, there's some logic there somewhere. The flatforms are also F + F too, and are incred value, realllly comfy and make shortys that much needed inch taller (Hi!). Lemmie know what you think :) xx

So Caught Up

Do you ever read 'Look' magazine and say to yourself "Ooooh I know her!" and then "I know her too!", only to turn the page and find yet more piccies of top blogger babes whose work you love? Yep....me too :) Most weeks it's like an A to Z of top bloggettes and their rather excellent looks. So, a few weeks back they did a feature on 'tying a knot in your skirt'. It sounded a bit like WTF at first, but the photos they showcased made the whole trend make perfect sense. Kookie at Death By Platforms and Katie at Little Winter were featured with very cool knots in their maxis, so, I thought I'd give it a go. I'm not 100% convinced that it came out nicely in my piccies, but when I looked in the mirror I thought it worked priddy well :) This year maxi skirts seem to be slashed right up to the thigh (which is a hot look, no denying) but if you're feeling a little less daring then this might be the trend for you. Have a lovely weekend...I'm off to do some damage in the Zara sale....wooop!....catch you soon xx

Swag

So, I just wanted to jump straight in and show youse what I've been splashing the cash on. Apologies in advance as there's probably wayyyy too much stuff here for one post, but I'm a bit over excited and wanted to share :)
First up: I've jumped on the Homies hype. *Predictable Face* This Brian Lichtenberg dupe is priddy good. If you haven't checked out his stuff have a lil' looksee here.
Second up: I got bare bare love for my white stilettos. Ok, so they're plastic. But they were literally the last pair in the shop....and they happened to be Size 5. Score! So, I scooped them up like a ninja.
Third up: Some flatform plimmies. I've been craving these big time and had to search several Topshops for a Size 4 (as Size 5 was comin' up welllll roomy) so I was buzzing to finally find them. (I'm still craving these bad boys but again, there's a lil' sizing issue- Size 4 is a bit small, Size 5 too big so I'm telling myself I can't get them...will it work? Hell to the probably not!).
Fourth up: A fake Ahhh-Bra from Primark. It's actually really strong fabric....I'm super-impressed, and I'll deffo be going for this in a few different colours. And, yeah, I slipped a pair of mirrored round sunnies into my Primark basket. At £2 it would've been silly not to.
Fifth up: I had zero intention of buying these zippy trousers. My mum actually had her eye on them, and since she had declared she was feeling well enough to shop and wanted to 'rejoin the land of the living', we decided to hit up Zara. We both tried them on, and...whadyaknow....we both loved them. They are such an excellent fit, it's insania. By the way- I'm looking to pair the patterned slippers with a boyfriend jean, when I can find one I like. *Holy Grail Alert* (Incidentally, I saw top blogger chick Lucita in Zara...I had to stop myself running up to her and going "Oh My God I Love Your Blog" and various other slightly insane ramblings...good job as she'd probably have got me thrown out!).
Sixth Up: Some Topshop goodies- in the shape of some lush checkerdy pants, some super-useful sweatshirts, and the best side-fastening ankle zip trousers I think I've ever tried on.
And finally (phew)- two new Bazza M colours for spring. You can't go wrong :)
