Balenciaga Papier Dupe

So, about three weeks ago I was out and about minding my own beeswax, having a nice Sunday brunch, as you do. After having stuffed several almond croissants in my gob I got up to leave and the sheer horror of what happened next is almost too traumatic to convey. My beloved. My baby. My Miu Miu had died. The handle had only gone and busticated itself. I was devz, to say the least. It was completely unusable and I knew it would have to be in rehab for a while to get fixed-up. Instantly my thoughts turned to a replacement. (Natch). First I toyed with the Givenchy Antigona Shopper. What's not to like, right? Then I thought I better come down a price point or two seeing as I only needed a temp, as such. So I contemplated this Zadig and Voltaire beaut. But what I really wanted was My Moo Moo back, all nice and mended, and then to think about a non-shopper type bag as a possible BDay prezzie. (Operation Drop Unsubtle Hints already well in action). On the wish-list are: a small Lucrezia, a medium Betty or a small Sac de Jour. A Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag, the eternal forever wantie a Celine Box Bag (no links, soz, Phoebe doesn't allow it!), or maybe just maybe a Va Va Voom. With all this swirling round my tiny mind I wandered into Zara- as all impoverished fashonistas do- for a reality-check and a quick fix. And there it was, an easy-peasy chirpy cheap-cheap solution to my bagless status. This really rather good (AKA affordable) shopper. It deffo puts me in mind of the Balenciaga Papier. Funnily enough- despite being a hardcore handbag addict- I've never actually lusted after one of these beauts before. But having lugged this Zara around for a week or so now, I'm starting to think this could be just the darling I'd like to find that Santa has bought me for my birthday. Hear me now Santa/Wishlist Gods/Mum and Dad :) Yours Sincerely, A Very Greedy Girl.
PS Chloe....I ran outta time and energy to do a Rare London post last night...this one was prepped at the weekend (swot alert!). Got everything crossed you win though :)

Tote Amaze

I've been meaning to do a 'What's In My Handbag' post forever, and as a result of the relentless rain making it impossible to shoot outside this week, that post has finally arrived :) The question is.....why is poking your nose into someone's bag so ludicrously fascinating? I have zero clue. All I know is these posts are basically my favourite in the whole freaking blogosphere. So let's get stuck in.
1.Miu Miu
Everything and more fits in this beaut shopper. I heart it to infinity and beyond.
2.Nars
Pressed Powder is a life-saver. I'm forever having to deshine (ugggh) and this is the best.
3.Benefit
Dandelion Lipgloss is a bit of pale pink heaven. This mini size was actually a freebie, which makes me love it even more :)
4.Chanel
Blue Boy is probably my fave nail polish of all-time. And you never know when a chip (diddy chip) is gonna make an appearance, do you?
5.My Boys
Never go anywhere without them. Fact. How sick is this whole album? And yes, I do actually still buy CDs. I know, I'm like, some sort of major weirdo. #1D #Ziam
6.Fracas
Almost too perfect to describe. It's so heady and divine. If you like gardenia, and you like tuberose you'll love this. Plus this little handy rollerball is totes portable. Winning.
7.Some Rings
From H&M. Just to make the picture priddy :)
8.L'Occitane
Fleur Cherie Handcream is beautifully floral and orange blossomy. And it's super rich for dry skinned bitches such as I.
9.RayBan
Wayfarers. Don't really need to say much do I? These are literally your forever sunglasses.
10.Company
is generally sick. But it's like realllly sick this month. They've gone a bit French. I just gobbled it up in one sitting. Tres Bon.

It's My Bag, Baby

To me, handbag shopping is the best thing in the world. Ever. So I was beyond over-excited when my lovely mummy suggested we pop into Selfridges last weekend to have a lil' aul browse for my birthday. Which, incidentally, is today :) Yay! Big love to all my fellow Geminis :) The last time I actually bought a bag was Autumn '11, and, well, that nearly killed me (in terms of splashing the cash) so the prospect of getting one as a prezzie was super-trippy :) I've owned a couple of Miu Miu's in the past, but their prices have skyrocketed dramatically in the last couple of years, so I had pretty much written them off as wayyy outta budget...until I spied this...my new baby.
I'd had my eye on an Alexander Wang shopper for a while...tried it on endlessly...seen Caz Flack carrying the very same...and decided I liked it...a lot...but somehow I didn't love it. I wanted to fall in love :)
Then...BOOM....I stumbled upon this divine Miu Miu. It's a new style from their 'Madras' collection, and to me it's perfection. It's probably a bit smarter than most bags I've owned in the past, but I guess it's a good step-up to trying to be a grown-up *1D Face*
I can't wait to use it tonite...as I'm off to the theatre (I'll be doing a lot less civilized things tomoz and Sunday which will involve copious amounts of drinking and eating, of course) so, I thought I'd put together a lil outift for this evening worthy (hopefully!) of my new baby. Have a lush weekend....I'm deffo gonna...how can I not? I have 1D tickets and a new handbag in my life....I'm one lucky MOFO! xx

Handbags & Gladrags

I'm a complete arm-candy addict. Bags are really the only big fashion purchases I make. And man alive, are the purchases big. I remember when bags were about £500 a pop (misty-eyed face) and although that's still insanely, ridiculously huge money, it didn't make you want to kill yourself when you'd spent it. Now all lust-worthy bags seem to top the £1000 mark. There's deffo something very wrong wrong wrong with that price-point situation. However, it doesn't stop the lusting and yearning for new potential buys, namely: a Givenchy Antigona, a Celine Luggage, a Celine Cabbas and a Prada Saffiano Two, in my case :)
In the meantime, here's a glimpse into my ongoing collection (well, part of it, the rest of my babies are at my Mum and Dad's!)
 Miu Miu Tote
This is the bag I lug around on a day-to-day basis. It's full of shit :) I got it in Selfridges a few years back and it's severely old and knackered but it does a job.
Alexander Wang Rocco
I love this bag but it's way heavy coz of the studs on the base. I also bought this is Selfridges, but with a very lovely 20% special shopping weekend discount. Wooo :)
Miu Miu Glazed Bow Bag
I've had this bag for about four years now. It's totally capacious (love that word) and I find that grey is so useful as a year-round colour (see also Alex Wang).
Mulberry Tillie
I bought this in the airport on the way to LA. We were running super-late so I had to make a very quick decision, which killed me a bit as I like to ponder big-ticket purchases. But as it turned out I've used it tons of times since and although it's bit fiddly and the hardware is vicious, I love it to bits.
Balenciaga Gold Stud Velo
I actually also have this bag in tan, which is ludicrously indulgent of me. I guess it looks a bit dated now and I should probably sell it, but it stresses me out to sell my stuff :) It's still amazing to use though as it's light and soft.
Marc Jacobs Quilted Single
I was saving up for a Chanel and it was taking forever. I happened to be bag browsing (plus ca change) and decided to just leap in and buy this instead, thinking "I'm never gonna have enough for a Chanel". Now that was probably completely the wrong decision, as a Chanel is ever further out of my reach and I will probably never own one (sad face). My Marc however, is a truly excellent handbag and I am totally glad I have it in my collection.....but I can't help still pining after that elusive Chanel :)

So, that was a little browse through my demi-collection. You'll notice there's something definitely missing...and that's colour! I seriously need to address that situation. Maybe when I get my next scratchcard I'll be able to :)
