A Year In Style

So...here's a bunch of unseen piccies to round off 2012. For one reason or another they never made it into a full blog post. I hope it's not photo overload:) I know I might be just a little bit previous with my round up of the year (well, 8 months), it's just...I'm off to my mum and dad's for Christmas today, and I'm not sure when I'll be back to regular shooting and blogging and wotnot. (I am hoping to do some majeur sale hauling though, natch!). I feel like I've spent more time in hospital this year than anything else (with both my mum and my dad), but blogging has weirdly managed to keep me sane and help me through all the ups and downs (although, of course, it has its own stress factors too!). Hopefully, 2013 will be better :) Much love and festive fun to everyone out there, see you soon

Brown Sugar

If you say the words "brown corduroy" to someone, they're bound to run off very quickly in the other direction, possibly screaming. Pity the fule:) Coz. This. Brown. Cord. Dungaree. Dress. Is. Perfection. It deffo takes me back to being a kid, when Osh Kosh were the one. I've gone fully retro here and paired it with a polo neck, now all I need is a packet of 'Space Dust' as the perfect accessory :)
Speaking of things old skool did anyone watch 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' last night? I don't think a John Hughes film can be on tv and me not watch it. Every single scene is perfection.

Who's That Girl?

Recently, the lovely Vanessa from Smashion got in contact to ask me to be one of their featured bloggers. I was like, "WTF?" and then, "HELL YES!" I sound like such a gimp....but it's quite hard not to be a big ole' cheese sandwich when describing yourself. It's deffo a cringe-o-rama and a half! Anyways, check out the full interview HERE xx

English Apparel

I'd been searching for a neon beanie for absolutely ages, and was all ready to bite the bullet and splash the cash in American Apparel. On my way to Soho I did a quick little detour to Primark (mostly to look for 'Onesies' for Crimbo prezzies......classy me!), and...BOOM...there it was.....the perfect knitted hat for £2! I was extremeeeeely happy.....to the point where...I got a bit over-excited and also bought this skirt too :) It's got an amazing kind of embossed texture thing going on...it sort of looks like pleather, but is actually fabric. Anyways up...my sister has just got back from Milan (which she has declared the coldest place on earth), so I'm wayyyy excited to see her tonite....hope you have a lovely evening too! x

I Got Love For You, If You Were Born In The Eighties

It was instant love when I saw this velour studded cardigan. It's completely Eighties, all that's missing is a shoulder pad :) I wanted to put it with a nice pair of bleached ripped-up super-short shorts, but I don't possess such things (sad face) so I went for my go-to skater skirt instead. I reckon it's a realllly good alternative to a jacket, especially in the evening over a party dress. Hope your week is off to a rockin' start x

We Fade To Grey

I dunno about you, but I'm just a touch overexcited about the thought of the Zara sale. I'm probably more excited about it than Christmas! (Sad, I know). I promised myself I wouldn't buy ANYTHING until it starts, but.....I'm weak. I crumbled. I bought this sweatshirt. And skirt. (And a couple of other things too- eek!). I've seen loads of bloggers in this skirt- it's the perfect sculptural shape, and the very reminiscent of the Philip Lim version. Also, don't ask me how, but I managed to get a bit of a shallow depth of field thing going on in this first picture- I wish accidents like that would happen everytime! Hopefully Santa might get me a remote for Xmas so I can use my proper low aperture lens all the time (listen to me, like I know what I'm talking about!!). Anyway, enough blathering, have a fab and not too stressy weekend doing your present shopping. See you next week x

Spot The Difference

When I spied this dotty dress (yep dress!) in H&M I instantly pounced. It put me in mind of Marc Jacobs recent LV hook-up with Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. If you haven't seen it, deffo take a minute to give it a quick Google. It's just pure graphic fashion beauty :) So, anyhoo, this spot print dress is actually seriously bodycon, and pretty hot for a going-out look. But I thought I'd pop it under a skater skirt for daytime, and I'm happy to report it doubles-up well as a top. And before you ask....yes.....I was freeeeeezing! I soon, however, ran back inside for a restorative hot chocolate, as you do. Take care, catch you soon x

Hazy Shade Of Winter

The light was realllly lovely over the weekend, so out I trotted to shoot a few pictures. Usually, streaming sunlight has me throwing a hissy fit (as do passing cars, joggers, dog walkers, leering builders, random abusive strangers, men trying to talk to you....I could go on!!) but.......the sun is super-low in the sky at the minute, and it ended up throwing out quite a nice Ready Brek glow (I think!!).  Hope your week is off to a lovely hazy start, catch you soon x

Bluer Than Velvet Was The Night

Back in the day my mum had a little phase of trying to dress me like Lord Fauntleroy. (Don't ask). Since then, I've pretty much had a severe aversion to blue velvet....until, that is....I saw this ABSOLUTE BEAUT OF A PLAYSUIT (ooh, that rhymes!). It really couldn't be more divine. I've teamed it here with a denim shirt (soz about the crinkles....my ironing skillz are a bit lacking)...but you could dare to bare with a lace bralet for a Crimbo party, or even a nice floaty white blouse. Hope you have a lovely festivey weekend x

The Finish Line

My jumper obsession shows no sign of letting up (soz bank manager!) and this check one from Topshop is the latest edition to my knit collection. It's not madly warm....but.....my 'Super Cosy' tights from Primark continue to do an amaaaazing job now Winter has well and truly set in. Keep warm (and carry on!), see you soon x

Ruby Monday

I've deffo embraced brocade completely this season, and this darling lil' skirt is no exception. It's a touch on the short side, but my tights are practically leggings, so who cares? :) The weather was super frosty yesterday and the sunlight was streaming in all over the place, but despite the elements conspiring to make my pictures rubbish....I think you can see the lovely pattern on the skirt anyway. Play On Player

When I saw Caz Flack wearing this playsuit on telly t'other week.....straight away I knew...I just HAD to have it in my life. So, when I was hauling away (such hard work..ha!) in Topshop last weekend and spotted it I was TRIPPING. All you really need under it is a nice white shirt, and maybe a necktie, but I've layered it here with a jumper in order to battle the elements a bit. Speaking of which...it's effing freezing innit? Time to break out the bobble hat and the gloves this weekend....hope you have a good 'un xx

Baroque 'n' Roll

As an absolute text book shopaholic, I'm used to grabbing nice shiny priddy things and buying them pronto without a thought for practicality. These shorts are a case in point. I saw them and thought "Gotta have!!".
Yes, they're super gorge. Yes they're shiny. And yes, they have got lovely jewels and pearls all over them. But sometimes that "sod it" urge just overtakes, y'know? I do try and be good from time to time...swear down  :) But if I live on Miso soup from now until Christmas these beauts will pay for themselves......er, won't they?!? With love and kisses to all my fellow shopaholics out there, over and out for now xx

Highland Fling

I absolutely CANNOT get enough of tartan this A/W, and this mini from Topshop fits the bill perfectly. As Britney once said "Gimmie More!". I actually had to stop myself from buying a check suit on Saturday- I think I was getting a bit carried away- what with being serenaded by McFly in the middle of Oxford Circus! Gotta say...they sounded excellent. Anyhoo, I bought a ton of stuff.....and not all of it was check :) Hope your week is off to a slightly less torrential start. Kisses. xx

Black Velvet, If You Please

Velvet is HOT HOT HOT right now, and I have to say...I.LOVE.IT. These gorge lil' Zara shorts are super-easy to wear, and look great with all sorts of tops, either tucked in, half-tucked, or untucked completely. (Tucktastic!!) I've also gotta give props to my fave Primark sweaters...they're only £5...and so far I've got 3! Hopefully, I'm heading up to there tomoz for (another) haul-sesh...so I'm predicting I might be the owner of a few more before the weekend is out :) Unfortunately, brains here went and smacked herself in the head with the car door last night...and I have a delightful red scar right across my forehead to show for it...so I've got my fingers crossed that with a little Face Finity foundation (seriously amaze product....GET ON IT!) I might be able to shoot a few pics that don't look too rough. Have a ledge weekend. xx

Empire State Of Mind

CONFESSION: I'm a sucker for all things Italian. I love the language and the food (obvs!) and the art and the way that everyone is just so freakin' well dressed. Of course, Italians don't do just-fallen-out-of-bed-hedge-backwards-eccentric-original dressing quite like the Brits.....BUT....they deffo lead the way when it comes to full-on blinged-out GLAMOUR. Like.....ornate trompe l'oeil designs, girls with perfectly ironed hair, bodycon dresses with straps and gold details everywhere.....YEP...I'm thinking: Versace. I was well jell when Gaga had her Versace phase recently, and got to mine the archives courtesy of Donatella......so when I saw this lovely silky top in Zara that is so reminiscent of the Gianni-Era I just had to go for it. Hope you're digging it. Ciao lovelies, a presto! x

Chinoiserie

I'm madly in love with these beautiful rose-print shorts from Topshop. They're made from a kinda flimsy fabric, (and I actually thought I might get pneumonia shooting this look as it was touch frosty out) but my INCRED AMAZE and UNREAL tights kept me properly, properly warm. (Seriously, if you haven't bought Primark's 'Cosy' tights yet....GET.ON.IT).  Hope your week is off to a beaut start. Catch you soon x

A Bottle Of Burgundy

I absolutely love dark red. (No kidding!!) Or oxblood. Or maroon. Or burgundy. Or whatever else you wanna call it...but an outfit consisting entirely of that and nowt else?  You're probably thinking *OVERKILL ALERT* But......I think.....I'm feeling it. Maybe the black tights save it (or maybe not?!). I'm even contemplating getting a dark red Alex Wang bag (espesh if Selfridges do their 20% weekend again this year...SQUEAL!). Just call me predictable...it's....another jumper! This one is realllllly soft and has got a nice little side zip detail (which I handily haven't got a picture of...soz!). Although, it has to be said, a metal zip and cold weather are not a good combo. More jumper news soon......ha! Bye for now x

Black Magic

I love a cape, don't you? But they can be a touch impractical, not to mention a bit draughty. If you've ever thought, 'Why doesn't someone invent a jacket that looks like a cape?'....then ponder no more.....Zara have come to the rescue! This FABULOUS cape jacket is my *sensible* purchase of the A/W season (so far!!). I realllllly wanted the leather collar coat that everyone's got, but it seems like its reaching ubiquity, so I went for this instead. And.I.Love.It. Hope you all have a lovely cosy fireworky weekend. Imagine

I caught this programme on BBC4 recently (pseudo intellectual alert!) called 'Sounds Of The Seventies'. Not only was the music brilliant, but I was TOTES mesmerised by all the outfits the bands were wearing. I immediately went a-searchin' for some 70s stuff to put together my own lil' look....and I found this DIVINE hat in River Island. The price tag said £25.....so I had to think twice before I went to the cash desk. But when the ticket got scanned, it went through at £8. I WAS TRIPPING! Shit like that never happens to me :) I also found this UNREAL jacket in Topshop. I can't decide if it's more John, or more Yoko, but it really is a thing of BEAUTY. I couldn't be more in love. Are you into shaggy jackets this A/W? What's top of your outerwear hitlist? x x
P.S. Apologies for the car going through the frame....anyone else have issues with dogs/cars/people getting in your photos? GAH!!! Frustration!

It's Black, It's White

White lace tends to conjour up images of brides and princesses and cute fluffy girly things which are generally not my bag, baby. But when I saw this dress I had a fashion lightbulb moment. I instantly styled it in my tiny brain with black tights, a black hat...black everything, basically. What I envisioned was kinda how it turned out. Hope you're feelin' it too :) x

She Wore Red Velvet

I've finally embraced tights. And OH-MY-DAYS, these tights are UH-MAZE-ING. I think they are possibly the best tights I've ever owned. They're Primark, and I think they were £3, but I've thrown away all the packaging, so if I go for a repeat purchase it'll be guesswork + memory = fingers crossed. I've also been a busy bee in Topshop (again) and bought this gorge red velvet skirt which is so perfect for all potential Christmas ensembles, it's really quite ludicrous. Hope you have spooky old week (if that's what you're up for!) x
