Blue Monday

Last year I had a little phase with pinstripes and, whaddya know, I'm still feeling 'em this year. I picked up this beaut pair of trews in Zara (where else) a few weeks ago, and I'm super happy I did. (These aren't they, but they're mightily similar. Actually, they could be them. Arrrgghh. Soz, brain-fry). Looking back at these pics now, I think I need a wayyy more oversized jumper with this outfit. Summink...like...this. Any pinstripe thoughts? Hit me up :) xx

How Now

Brown leather. The very words strike fear into my heart. There's just...a certain...ickyness there. What could possibly be worse than brown leather? Brown pleather, that's what. But, yep, here I am in some brown pleather pants. Doubtless you'll have clocked a lorra lorra magazines heralding an AW season of brown and mahogany and ochre and rust and tan, so we nero-philes better get used to it. Ideally, I'd have shot this look with a nice oversized oatmeal jumper. But a) it's still 20 degrees, and b) I haven't found quite the right beige sweater for the job yet. (Is anyone else having similar Zara problems to me? In I go "Ooooh I freaking love that oversized jumper so I do">>rushes to changing room>>"Shit, it looks like a dress"?) In retrospect, this white vest clearly does not remotely go with this outfit, but as usual I was in massive hurry and just grabbed what was on top of the t-shirt pile. Grey and black accessories probably don't really go either, but, you know, I'm a seriously rubbish blogger and maybe a tiny clash is a good thing? Laterz chicas xx

Pretty Fly For A White Girl

You've probably seen loads of bloggers wearing those stripey H&M trousers. (And when I say those, I mean these). Beyond sick, aren't they? I've searched in-store for them all over the freakin' place, but alas, no luck. Cryface. Why aren't I shoving them into my little on-line shopping bag and checking out pronto, you ask? Wellll...coz H&M are notoriously slow with their on-line deliveries, and, quite frankly, I don't think I'll want a floaty pair of striped trews in September (when they'll doubtless arrive). Plus.....I found these shamazing dupes in Zara (of course). They're less volumey, less oversizedey but possibly a teeny bit more wearable. Maybe. I bought a size small and rolled the waistband over for a bit of a Wang feel. Which leaves the way clear to add in a slightly unbuttoned loose-fit Alex W-style shirt, should you wanna go that route. (And I do). The Boy texted by the way, in case you wondering. What did I feel? Not much, weirdly. Excited initially, yeah. But then I realised it was the same old shit, different day, and now I'm sort of alright. I hate having a hard-heart, and having to move on and cutting off my feelings to save my feelings, but if that's how it's gotta be, that's how it's gotta be. Catch you soon xx

Rhapsody In Blue

I couldn't wait to buy these troosers when I first spied them but...just a little heads up.....1) they crease like bastards and 2) they have a tendency to fall down, so go for the smallest size you can. Aside from that, they are ledge. The side-zip detail is to die and they are super-comfy. I'm also priddy pleased with this cropped Breton I picked up recently too...but...I think I must've bought at least 10 striped tops in the last four weeks alone. Ooops :) *Addict Face* And....yeah...I did change shoes half way through shooting this. I was just too desperate to get my slides on, but in retrospect black doesn't really go with blue in this instance. (Normally I like a bit of a blue-black clash thing, but I think we can consider this a fail. Maybe a black top would blend a bit more). Any thoughts? Lemmie know :) xx

All I Learnt At School

After searching high and low for a baggy trouser that didn't overwhelm, and didn't break the bank, I settled on these Zara classics. Basically, they are the standard bootcut trooser they do every season in their workwear range. I'm still not a happy fashion bunny though, as I want summink in a cotton fabric I think, and perhaps also with a higher waist to wear with crop tops. A bit like this. (Actually, come to think of it, I might go for both those pieces). Are you feeling a baggier trouser this S/S? Lemmie know :) xx

In The Navy

I seem to be inadvertently working uni-colour themes of late. Dunno where that came from. First, all grey. Then all black. Now, all navy. These new Zara trousers are getting towards the baggier shape I'm craving, but they're still not quite baggy enough. I've actually seen some tremendously volumey pants in And Other Stories, so I might have to get those. I do have The Fear about them though, what with being short and well, not a skinny bitch, that they'll somehow end up looking oh-so-wrong, but I'mma give it a shot anyway :)

Buckle Up

I'm totally feeling high-waisted baggy trousers right now, and these buckle-detail ones from Zara ticked a few boxes for me, so I hauled 'em :) This look may be a bit of a Simon Cowell/Patrick Bergin out of Sleeping With The Enemy/Burglar mash-up but I'm kinda pleased with the way it turned out. Although....I did want to put a nice box-fresh pair of Adidas with these pantalons, but there is not a pair of Size 5 Stan Smiths to be had in the whole of Britain, seemingly. *Cry Face* So the New Balance have come out to play, again. Check Up

Loads of bloggers seem to have these tartan troosers, and I can't blame them as they are absolute beasts. (Beast = good in my world. If I like a boy, he's a complete beast. So now you know). I realllly love the fit and feel of these (soz about the VPL- oops!). I thought any one of my many auld navy jumpers would go, but they all looked kinda wrong. Why does that always happen? I never believe in 'investment' dressing- do you? Things change soooo freakin' quickly in fashion that even stuff that's 3 months old can look totally 'wrong'. I went for this red sweater in the end but it's a bit too matchy-matchy for me (and not in a 'good' way). I need summat oversized and totally volumey. And...new..ha! :) Anyhoo, hope you are feeling better than me at the minute- I'm having the worst time of it- I'm literally half dead, dizzy as fuck, with like, permanent sea sickness. I hate hate hate having to go to the doctor...but I've bitten the bullet and made an appointment. Fingers crossed I've got a virus that makes you reallllly thin :)  Much love, catch you soon xx
